Foundation Center of NY's Funding Information Network At Kitsap Regional Library

What Is It?

The Funding Information Network is a network of libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit resource centers that can be found across the U.S. and around the world. Network partners provide a suite of tools and resources consisting of Foundation Center databases, publications, and a variety of supplementary materials and services in areas useful to grantseekers.

Where Is It?

The Kitsap County Regional Library Poulsbo location is the center for Funding Information Network Resource and Services. Anyone can come in and use the Foundation Directory Online (full professional version) at either Poulsbo or Sylvan Way locations, either on library computers, or on the library wireless network.

What Does It Include?

The library offers both online resources and in-person classes geared to the introductory level skills in the areas of four core competencies: Fundraising, Organizational Sustainability, Leadership and Management, and Innovation.

The suite of both online and in-person Funding Information Network resources cover four stages of skill development: Embark, Rise, Launch and Soar, with each stage creating more in-depth, comprehensive skill development. The Library’s focus for in-person classes is the Embark, or introductory overview stage. Print and online resources from the Foundation Center such as GrantSpace, together with access to chat online with Foundation Center of NY librarians, provide networking and professional development opportunities for every level, beginner to expert, on a self-serve basis.

Online resources like GrantSpace provide the opportunity to network with colleagues in your own specialty or field of interest, as well as view panels and programs recorded from their NY offices.

All classes are free.

Classes Include:

  • Before You Seek a Grant
  • Introduction to Finding Grants
  • Introduction to Proposal Writing
  • Introduction to Budgeting
  • Introduction to Fundraising Planning
  • Your Board and Fundraising
  • Introduction to Corporate Giving
